Carsie!! I was so happy that you came to teach swing the other day!! Someone came upstairs and was like CARSIE IS HERE! and we all were like AH! and ran down. haha. I'm glad you added Belle of the Ball to your myspace. That is one of my favorite songs by you.

Lots of Love.

Carsie, I happened to catch you a little over a year ago at "Wine, Women and Song" in Sellersville, PA. Believe it or not I drove there from near Knoxville, TN to see and meet Annie Haslam. I did want to tell you that you were without a doubt the best act that night. I constantly check your myspace waiting to hear of a new CD or a show close enough to see you. I was wondering if there is any chance you will be heading south on tour any time soon, if there is a chance of getting my hands on "Hush", and when will see a new CD? Also, glad you put the "Whistle Song" on here, I loved it live and wondered if I'd ever get to hear it again. I have now downloaded it to my Ipod and will hear it many more times!

Love ya girl!

Ain't So Green has been out a while, but I just got around to listening to it because Sam Alder (who I'm living with in Victoria, BC) has it on his computer. And I thought I'd tell you that I love it and am in awe of it. I have it on repeat. You make me feel like I'm in love even when I'm lonely.

Hi Carsie,
i teach music in rural oregon. it rains a lot here. trains come through now and then, crossing intersections and making people late for work. my students are new to music and they learn in a run down old classroom that leaks a little. they sang a lovely winter program last month and are now onto bigger challenges- the challenge of writing their own song. They are scared.
When i'm not teaching, i write songs and perform them in little venues up and down the west coast. i feel that song writing for my students is an important next step to take in their musical journey. they are really scared.
we started off our day today by brainstorming what makes a challenge a challenge. We brainstormed what gutsy means. we brainstormed why both are important. we listened to your song, "gutsy and smart". my students adored it, for all of its gutsiness and smartness. They were challenged today to be gutsy and smart in their songwriting. they are still scared- but now they have a direction, a challenge. and a theme song.
thanks, Carsie.

Heard you sing "Belle of the Ball" the other night on the Joey Reynolds Show on NYC's WOR. I thought I was dreaming. You've the got the voice of an angel and the moxie of Sophie Russell. I purchased your cd the next day. Hours of tuneful pleasure await. What is with you Oregon gals: you, the petite gal with hyphenated last name. Something in the water no doubt. I'm dedicating my next poem to the lyrical muses of the Columbia Valley.

You have a phenomenal career ahead of you! Remember the little people when you make it big… My husband, friends and I heard you perform at the Songfest in Luray in May 2007, where we purchased your CD. Your disc has remained in my car and is played more than any other. The style you articulate is whimsical, your range impressive, your voice sweet and compelling – with lyrics to match. Hope to see you back at the Songfest, I've thrown my vote for your return. Dave & Doris

Carsie;
Saw you tonight (7/7/07)at Bryn Mawr and talked briefly with you before the program. It's just you and George Harrison on my MP3! Your music is where I turn when, like you say yourself in "Ain't So Green," I need something to 'calm me down!' Thanks for your amazing youthful wisdom, your lyrical perfection, and your voice that soothes the soul! Keep up the good stuff. Hope you can get that next CD out sometime while I'm still kickin' - I turn 60 next month!!

I attended Wine, Women & Song at Sellersville Theater tonight. I had gone to see Lauren Hart, Annie Haslam and Amanda Kaletsky. Who would have thought that it was the fourth singer, one whom I'd never heard of, who really floored me! Wonderful job tonight, Carsie! Your music is clever, touching and unforgettable. You've made a fan of me ... and from the looks of the line at intermission, quite a few others as well!
